Photoshop Challenge

eComm Photoshop Challenge

This week in eComm, we were assigned a project to use the photoshop skills we learned with the tutorials. We were given a set of pictures to use, but we also had the option to do our own thing with it. I chose to use some cityscape pictures rather than the nature ones they provided. This is the final outcome. I am very happy with how it turned out.

I started making a layer mask with a picture for the jacket, so the jacket would be a cityscape rather than just brown.  I didn't use full opacity, so that you could still see the creases and folds. This simply made it look more real, and blend into the original picture. At the end I also ended up turning it slightly blue so that it would match the tone of the rest of the picture.

I also made another layer mask on the white shirt, and added a grey color, because the shirt was very yellow and didn't match the cool blue theme.

Then, I did the hair. I made a layer mask of the basic shape of the hair and put a different cityscape picture on it. I turned down the opacity on this as well, for the same reason as the jacket, and to make sure it still looked like hair. I proceeded to use the clone stamp tool to take away the extra blue around the edges, and make the singular hairs look more crisp against the background.

I finished it off with using the brush tool and a blue shade with low opacity to make his facial hair blue. I went over his eyelashes, eyebrows, mustaches and beard. I also used this to touch up his sideburns, and the hair on his neck.

That is how I completed this photoshop assignment. Next time I am going to try to make something a little more complicated that will challenge me more. Besides that, I think it was very fun and looks great!
